Saturday Morning

Took out the youth today for a little bassin. We hit up one of the ponds in Aurora. I brought my littler brother, and Desiree's son Julian. We got up early, well for a Saturday on Memorial Day weekend. We were parked and set up by 9:15 I would say. The landscapers were finishing up the lawn as we walked down to the water. Pretty windy at first, and fairly slow. I caught one, then Julian got one a bobber and nightcrawler. I'm sure it was the biggest fish he's ever caught. Austin got one a little bit later. We walked around the pond hitting all the spots. Finally hit a good 3o to 4o minute stretch were 6-7 fish were probably caught. At one point they each had a nice one at the same time. Austin was the big winner with 8 fish and a nice prob 2 1/2 LB'er. Overall morning worked out!

Lunch Break Bass 5/25/2011

Nice little Monday night you fellas had, keep it up. Checkin in real quick with a LB Bass post. I do have to say the week has been active. I can only imagine what Fairfield is like right now. Not sure if these smaller ponds have different patterns than the larger areas of water. Last weeek the bass around the banks basically looked at me like a fool and wanted nothing to do with my offering. You can see a lot of fish in the water at this spot. This week the action was back. Each day I have caught a handful of fish with little more than 25 minutes water time. I HATE GOING BACK TO WORK! I attached some of the bass, and a couple pictures of "Phil's" Pond. This little bastard is from the terrible Smith Road spot, Danny and Reese know about this. That's the old Quantum Escalade 11 bearing spinning reel, and a Bass Pro Shops medium heaby action, IM6 rod.

Lunch Break Bass Intro Post

The Webmaster; Mailbox, has proposed an idea for a new series of posts about catchin bass on the work lunch break. The post is open to everyone. Reese maybe you stop at a pond on the way home from work, and pop a hog. Post it. Danny got to find a spot on the Chicago River, the smallies are there. Scott if at any point during the week you are home, just walk down to the dock between 12 and 1 and nail a pig. Post it. Check out some fish I've caught in the Aurora area over the last year.
